App Store video guide

App Store App Preview

Prepare a short video that demonstrates your app's real features, functionality, and interface. App Preview is different from a Product Page Header video: it is device-specific and is expected to show the app in use.

Current App Preview requirements

Apple lets you provide up to three App Previews for each supported device size and language. The accepted file must stay within the technical video requirements below.

iPhone Duo App Preview resolution

Portrait

886 × 1920 px

Landscape

1920 × 886 px

These are Apple's accepted App Preview resolutions for iPhone Duo. They are intentionally different from the Duo screenshot dimensions, so do not derive App Preview exports from the screenshot canvas contract.

Use real app footage and tell one complete story

01

Start with real UI

Apple describes App Previews as footage of your app in action. Record the actual interface or gameplay rather than generating a fictional interaction.

02

Make the opening count

Show a compelling feature in the first few seconds, then give the viewer enough context to understand the flow.

03

Plan localization

An App Preview can be localized. If you do not provide one for a storefront's localization, App Store Connect can fall back to the next best available language.

If an App Preview uses a different aspect ratio from the screenshots, Apple says it can appear in the A Closer Looksection of the product page. Review the full listing, not only the isolated video.

AppListingLab does not yet edit or export App Preview video

Screenshot Studio currently handles screenshots and static Header/Search creative images. App Preview upload, trimming, timeline editing, poster-frame selection, deterministic transcoding, and provider publishing are planned but are not current customer capabilities.

The planned workflow starts from a real screen recording, then adds trimming, captions/overlays, optional audio treatment, localization, poster-frame selection, Apple preflight, and export. This guide is here so you can prepare compliant source footage now without mistaking the future workflow for a released feature.
