App Store creative asset guide
App Store Product Page Header
The Product Page Header is the first visual element people see when they land on your App Store product page. Prepare it as a brand-level creative that complements your icon and screenshots rather than replacing them.
By AppListingLab · against Apple's creative asset specifications and asset best practices. Apple can change these rules; confirm the current placement before submission.
Product Page Header sizes and formats
Apple supports dedicated image/video artwork for this placement and a universal 16:9 PNG image that can be reused for both Header and Search Results. Images cannot include alpha channels or transparency.

Design for the placement, not only the canvas
Lead with one clear idea
Apple recommends avoiding visually dense or cluttered Header artwork. Use the space to establish the brand, seasonal story, or major new content.
Design for a first-time visitor
The Header is the first visual element on the product page, so it should make sense before someone has read the rest of the listing.
Keep it connected to the listing
Use the same visual language as your icon, screenshots, and store copy so the product page reads as one coherent story.
Creative assets are different from screenshots and app previews. They can express your broader brand or promotional story, while screenshots and app previews remain the place to demonstrate the actual app experience.
Prepare the static image in the same AppListingLab project
Screenshot Studio can keep Header and Search Results image pages in the same screenshot set as the rest of your App Store listing. Choose a template pack to carry its background, typography and authored banner composition into dedicated or universal images. You can edit the composition, localize visible text, preview the placement as an AppListingLab approximation, validate the rendered image, and export the final file.
Browse pack previews to compare Duo screenshot canvases and Apple creative placements before starting. Current support in this workflow is for static image creatives. Video creative editing is not yet a released customer workflow.
Export first; direct placement is a separate capability
AppListingLab currently prepares and exports these static creative assets for manual App Store Connect upload. Direct App Store Connect Asset Library upload or Header/Search placement assignment is not enabled in the customer product yet. Keep that distinction when planning your release workflow.
Apple now manages approved screenshots, app previews, and creative assets centrally in Asset Library. After manual upload, check the asset's processing/review state and placement in App Store Connect before treating it as live.
